Travel

As I have been looking through videos I stumbled across this one. Two years ago, I went to Korea with the besties. Its was my first time in Korea and it was interesting to see their culture, eat their food, and see their fashion. This is a video of people playing music near our Air BnB.

“It’s a steam boat that goes really fast. It carries fruits and vegetables because it can’t carry people because of the virus.”

Boat Activity 3/3

Today’s focus was science and experiments. Using the project from earlier in the week, I connected the following project by incorporating the same materials, and ideas from the previous videos. This is a huge aspect of the Reggio philosophy, and allows children to continue to work on something for an extended period of time. Recently, everyone and everything is focused on “the next”, and “quickly”, therefore I really enjoy the Reggio philosophy because it requires thinking, elaborating, and re-using materials.

Anyway, for today’s activity the friends were tasked with testing their boat to see if it sank or floated. In addition, if their boat sank/ floated, they were also tasked with taking their boat apart and testing individual materials to see what they did. If they did something different than the former, the question of “why do you think that happened?” posed.
