When I Was Younger...

One of my favorite books to read was “The Giving Tree” by, Shel Silverstein. I remember when I was younger I could have gotten this book read to me over and over and still enjoy listening to it. For those of you who don’t know what this story is about; it’ about a boy and a tree. The boy and tree grew up together and have always been there for one another. Through out the boys life, the tree was always there for him when he needed. It’s a simple, yet gratifying story and reading it as an adult still brings joy. Did you have a favorite book to read growing up?

Trip to Hokkaido

Each time I’ve gone to Japan, I always ranted and raved about Kyoto. Kyoto is a place I could see myself living, and if not living, visiting each time I go to Japan. Within the last year and a half, I think it’s safe to say I have found another place in Japan that I thoroughly enjoy as much as Kyoto. Though, I am not sure what living in Hokkaido would be like because it snows for a good portion of the year. Something about Hokkaido makes me feel so happy. I can't pin point the exact thing, but maybe it’s the people here are somehow different?….the atmosphere is “light”? Im not sure how to explain it, but I can tell there is a difference. While in Hokkaido I got to do so many things this trip! I’ll write about it later, but for now i’m just expressing my extreme content-ness for this lovely place.
