Product Review: Supergoop Sunscreen: Matte Screen & Sheer Screen

I have another review for you. I have been using the Supergoop Matte Screen and Sheer Screen sunscreen everyday for a few months now and I have some thoughts..

The first product I will be writing about is Matte Screen by Supergoop. Supergoop is a company that focuses mostly on SPF products. I like this company because they offer a high SPF in their products, have mineral based products, and are mostly reef safe. If a product is ‘reef safe’ it means the product is not formulated with oxybenzone or octinoxate which are two UV- blocking chemicals that have been shown to cause coral bleaching in the ocean. I was introduced to this product by a coworker and found it at Sephora for $38 for 1.5FL. My skin is sensitive to everything under the sun so I enjoyed that this product was 100% mineral based.

PROS: The consistency is light and has a whipped texture. There is very very minimal fragrance when being applied. There is no added fragrance so when you smell is straight from the compounded ingredients. After wearing this product all day, it does not drip into my eyes to cause that burning feeling. There is NO sticky feeling once applied to the face. SPF 40 with blue light protection. Does not pill when applying things atop.

CONS: There is a slight tint to this product due to the mixture of ingredients so be conscious if you are wearing a mask some of the color may come off. At $38 for 1.5FL it can become pricey if purchasing all the time. I’ve been using this sunscreen almost everyday for a few months and already needed to purchase a new one.

Final thoughts: I like this product a lot. I’d give it an 9.5/10

The next product I will be talking about is from the same company but a tiny bit different. It’s called Sheer Screen and you can get it at Sephora for $38.

PROS: Weightless formula, 100% mineral based, SPF 30 PA+++, reef safe, doesn’t burn my eyes half way throughout the day, no white cast, and is not greasy.

CONS: There is no added smell, but the natural smell from the formulation has a tiny bit of coconut scent. It doesn’t bother me a ton, but just thought I’d share. This sunscreen doesn’t leave my skin as hydrated as the matte screen does.

Final Thoughts: I like this product a lot as well. I’d give it a 9/10 just because it doesn’t leave my skin as hydrated as the one mentioned above. The only thing I want to note about both of these sunscreens is that the packaging looks basically the same so if you plan on purchasing this, be very careful which one you buy. I will also leave a little helpful tool to see which sunscreen will work best for you.
