Trip to Hokkaido

Each time I’ve gone to Japan, I always ranted and raved about Kyoto. Kyoto is a place I could see myself living, and if not living, visiting each time I go to Japan. Within the last year and a half, I think it’s safe to say I have found another place in Japan that I thoroughly enjoy as much as Kyoto. Though, I am not sure what living in Hokkaido would be like because it snows for a good portion of the year. Something about Hokkaido makes me feel so happy. I can't pin point the exact thing, but maybe it’s the people here are somehow different?….the atmosphere is “light”? Im not sure how to explain it, but I can tell there is a difference. While in Hokkaido I got to do so many things this trip! I’ll write about it later, but for now i’m just expressing my extreme content-ness for this lovely place.

Hobbies

We all have hobbies, don’t we? Hobbies are what makes us, us. Some people may like to read, others may like to play sports, some may like to draw. Hobbies are endless and it’s always interesting to talk to people about their hobbies. One of my hobbies, though I don’t get to do it as often as I would like, is to go to the snow. There is something so beautiful and tranquil about the snow that makes me so happy. It may be the crips air, it may be the trees covered in snow, or it may be the purity of everything being so white. One thing I like to do when I visit the snow is to snowboard or ski. A little fun fact about me is that I have been skiing since I was about five years old and snowboarding since I was seven. When I was younger, my family would try to go at least a handful of times per year. when I think back, I always have such fond memories of going to the snow. Recently, I had the chance to go snowboarding in Hokkaido, Japan. It was so beautiful even though the end of the season is approaching. I went during the week so the runs were pretty much empty and the lines for the lifts were almost non- existent. One thing I noticed in Japan is that more people ski than snowboard. I wonder why that is? Anyway, take a look at the vide I took from the lift. Pretty, isn’t it?
